Trompe l’oeil
A visit to see GIL and MARCEL FIGUÈRES and sons, ROBERT and ERIC, at Faïencerie Figueres in Marseille is a joy. Feel like tucking in to a bowl of ripe figs, or an apple or a pear, they look so delicious. STOP, look carefully, all is not what it seems.
We are actually in a workshop, the clay and moulds piled high, a series of kilns and other equipment give us the clue that we won’t be eating anything here.
